Description

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, School of Medicine at Texas A&M University invites applications for up to four full-time or part-time, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) adult and child & adolescent psychiatry positions with an 11-month academic appointment, renewable annually with an anticipated started date of as soon as possible. Applicants will be considered for a faculty rank of Clinical Assistant, Associate or full Professor depending on qualifications. Opportunities are available to be a part of a growing academic clinical enterprise. In addition to outpatient practice, positions are available in addictions, emergency, consult/liaison and geriatric psychiatry. Opportunities also exist to develop integrative and collaborative care initiatives, including by way of telehealth, with local primary care physicians as well as schools. A neuro-modulation clinic is under development. The department is actively involved in medical education and has a newly accredited psychiatry residency training program.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide high quality, evidence based care to a diverse patient population as a leader of the care team

  • Collaborate with other behavioral health providers in the provision of patient care

  • Contribute to the departmental and school of medicine educational programs

  • Supervise medical students, residents and other trainees in the clinical setting

  • Attend and participate in related departmental and medical school administrative and committee activities

    Qualifications

Required education and experience include:

  • M.D, PhD, DO, MSN, DNP, MSW or equivalent medical degree

  • Completion of an accredited program in your discipline

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in your discipline if applicable
