Global Science and Technology Inc. NOAA Program Analyst in College Park, Maryland

Global Science and Technology, Inc (GST) is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our company as aProgram Analystsupporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This position is within the research division (STAR) of the NOAA Satellite Service (NESDIS) and supports a wide range of activities centered in the STAR front office. NOAA is an interesting and rewarding workplace where you can contribute to the nation's environmental observation and conservation efforts. It is where smart people collaborate to solve problems and protect the nation's valuable natural resources.

This position is at the STAR headquarters offices in College Park, MD, and engages with various support functions.

Position Summary:

Principally, you will serve as an advisor and analyst to STAR leadership. You will be a team player and function well working across multiple areas and on a variety of tasks. You will focus on helping to develop program strategies, identify research gaps and priorities, and understand user needs. You will bolster STAR front office communications across NESDIS. You will help to map STAR partnerships and product lifecycles. You will help coordinate and guide the STAR research portfolio to meet broader NOAA and NESDIS priorities. You may collaborate across NESDIS and within STAR to help with performance metrics reporting. You may contribute to annual and other periodic reporting requirements. You may also support a Science Council in various functions. Overall, there are many functions for this STAR Front Office-centered role, and you will gain great exposure to NESDIS, NOAA, and U.S. environmental satellite products and services.

  • Competency with Microsoft product suite especially Excel spreadsheets.
  • Smartsheet experience is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of government strategic planning processes is a significant plus.
  • Experience developing and managing project and action trackers.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Environmental Science and/or Policy, Meteorology or Oceanography, or other fields relevant to or synthesizing skills engaged with federal science agency operations, strategic planning, project management A minimum of 7 years experience with BS/BA or 5 years with MS/MA

Ability to meet deadlines in a highly dynamic environment Google suite of applications experience is highly desired
