Syms Strategic Group (SSG)  is seeking a talented Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) Developer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This is an on-site, customer facing position in downtown Washington DC supporting a federal government client.  Remote work is not available.

 

  • Provide Data warehousing, Data modeling, Data integration, Data migration, ETL processes, and Business Intelligence support.

  • Design, analyze, and implement Data Modeling.

  • Provide data modeling design, analysis, and implementation, including conceptual, logical, and physical Data modeling, Data conversion, Data integration, and Data mining specialization in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence.

  • Install, configure, develop, support, and maintain the BI Apps, including the following environments or higher: OBIEE 12c, BI Apps.9.6.3, Web Logic Server, Informatica 9.0.1, Oracle 11.2.0.2, SQL, PL/SQL, DAC 7.8.4, TOAD, SQL Plus, Unix, and Windows XP.

  • Develop ETLs using Informatica to facilitate Extraction Transformation and Data Load from Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) systems to Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) systems.

  • Design schema using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Fact, Dimensions, Physical, Logical, Alias, and Extension tables.

  • Build the Business Model(s) and establish relationships and Foreign Keys (Physical and Logical) between tables.

  • Create Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) authentication to enable Single-Sign on for Users in Development environment leveraging Analytics Repository.

  • Use Informatica Mapping Designer to create/update mapping using different transformations required to move data into data warehouse.

  • Provide recommendations and identifying critical issues and process faults as they pertain to data modeling, ETLs, and Informatica.

     

    Required Skills and Experience

  • An ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing requirements.

    Professional Certifications n/a

    Years of Professional Experience 5+ years’ experience in ETL tools, especially Informatica and data warehousing applications.

    5+ years’ experience developing and tuning complex SQL queries in Oracle relational database.

    Desired experience Availability on government site in Washington, DC Monday – Friday during normal working hours and support after-hours remotely when needed.

    Prior experience in a federal data warehouse and understanding of government procedures and regulations.

    Formal Education Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or 8 years of additional relevant experience

    Citizenship Requirement U.S. Citizenship required for this specific opportunity

    Security Clearance Requirements Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI)
