Job Summary

The Engineer is responsible for all project scope development and detailed design associated with equipment, processes, and safety improvements for facilities throughout the organization.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Design, sizing, and selection of rendering processes equipment (conveyors, air and water condensers, ductwork, heat exchangers, piping systems, steam boilers, structures, tanks, valves, pumps, air scrubbing equipment, and cookers ).
  • Development of project scope, budget, and installation schedule.
  • Work with our internal Instrument & Controls, Automation, and Electrical departments in providing accurate costs and implementation of company standards.
  • Capable of working directly with internal and external resources for equipment sizing and design.
  • Generate equipment, motor, piping, and tie-in lists to hand off to CAD and installation resources.
  • Generate P&ID's, PFD's, heat and mass balances.
  • Capable of working with our internal mechanical installation department to ensure all modifications/changes during installation are documented, communicated, and updated in CAD drawings as part of the project close out process.
  • Communicate scope of work changes and provide technical solutions to all process / installation obstacles or alternatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree through accredited college; Mechanical or Chemical engineering preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work well with others in a team environment.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
  • Rendering process and/or installation of equipment is valuable.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD programs and the ability to perform general structural analysis is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Requires travel to plants with overnight stays. 20-30% travel is expected.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in an office environment and plant environment.
