Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

  • Performs preventive maintenance and emergency maintenance tasks as assigned or required

  • Working from equipment manuals, schematics and/or mechanical drawings, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, moving, setting up and operating support and production machinery

  • Must have the ability to make minor decisions in accomplishing assigned work

  • Possesses ability to use a variety of hand and power tools

  • Possess working knowledge of power distribution, refrigeration, hydraulics, steam boilers and compressed air systems

  • Possess formal training in or a working knowledge of industrial electrical controls, including digital and analog devices, programmable controllers, servo drives, inverters and related components

  • Able to use a multimeter to troubleshoot electrical control systems to include both 120VAC & 24VDC

  • Possess knowledge of 480V three phase power systems, breakers and distribution; ability to install, wire and test three phase motors and reduction drives

  • Maintains accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, and maintenance calls

  • Orders required spare machine or project parts as needed through purchasing agent or parts clerk and logs all inventory used in plant through the CMMS

  • Responds to maintenance and line stoppage calls prepared to provide emergency repairs safely and effectively

  • Follows department & company policies and OSHA regulations to ensure safe work habits and conditions for you and co-workers

  • Responsible for preventing loss or injury due to improper or unsafe operation of equipment

  • Responsible for following lock-out/tag-out procedures as well as specific procedures dealing with confined spaces and hazardous materials

  • Collaboration with co-workers and management to utilize best practices, continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing concepts for operations wherever possible

  • Observes Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and maintains a clean and safe work area within the maintenance shop and on the production floor

  • Displays initiative in recognizing work to be done, as well as judgment and ingenuity in troubleshooting problems

Hard Skills

  • Previous experience working with production lines

  • Experience with PM, troubleshooting, and making repairs

  • Electrical skills

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Production equipment experience

  • Formal training in industrial electrical controls

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 18 Week(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Coconut Creek, Florida.

Work Environment

The work environment is hot! There are large ovens in the production area which increase the temperature inside the plant. Candidates need to be aware they will be working in a warm environment. Hair nets and beard covers are required at all times. Shift:1st shift 6am-2:30pm - 2nd shift: 2pm-10:30pm - 3rd shift: 10pm - 6:30am - will have 2 days off per week. Must be okay with a flexible schedule as the schedule will rotate.
