Job Description

The Advanced Therapist is responsible and accountable for providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship. Demonstrates clinical proficiency in the adult and/or neonatal critical care areas. He/she should have a thorough understanding of all respiratory care modalities and be capable of making judgment decisions and recommendations to physicians pertaining to respiratory care modalities. He/she should also be able to evaluate these techniques and report their findings to the responsible physician.

Primary Accountabilities • Thorough documentation, including patient care, interdisciplinary Plan of Care, patient education, and charges appropriately for care provided. • Responds to Stat calls within appropriate time frame with proper equipment and responds to all Code Blues and Rapid Response Calls in their assigned building and take leadership role for Respiratory Care staff. • Demonstrate ability to interpret CXR for ETT, Pulmonary Artery, and IABP catheter placement, as well as the ability to interpret basic cardiac/pulmonary complications. • Demonstrates ability to perform all procedures required for NICU, Labor & delivery, and nursery. • Attends Partnership Council; except for NI Core Group attend NICU Committee on a regular basis.

  • Current license by State of Florida, Department of Health, as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within 90 days of start dateandmaintained.
  • Certification (s) as required by specific unit.
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills, organizational and prioritizing skills.
