Design Technician

Description

As a Design Technician, you will have the opportunity to create and lead the introduction of new parts, through the APQP methodology. Responsible to design casting rigging systems, generate troubleshooting design, teach others in the use of design tools and systems, ensure effective dates are completed and change documentation conforms to established throughout the different manufacturing processes.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

\

  • Design steel castings most cost effective rigging systems

\

  • Lead APQP efforts for NPI

\

  • Troubleshooting design

\

  • Teach others in the use of design tools and systems

\

  • Ensure effective dates are completed

\

  • Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers

\

  • Identify, create, develop or manage – regulation and standard management or technical data

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

\

  • Technical associates degree (or equivalent) or equivalent work experience

\

  • Experience with application of technical practices

\

  • Magma software knowledge

\

  • Foundry background

\

  • APQP Knowledge

\

  • Knowledge of computer modeling tools

\

  • Strong communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

\

  • In-depth knowledge of Caterpillar's engineering drawing practices or procedures
