REQUISITION SUMMARY PACCAR is seeking an Assistant Director of Supplier Quality to manage the Supplier Quality staff, deploy Quality initiatives, support defect free Product Launches and address supplier initiated defects shipped to PACCAR. The ideal candidate is a strong team leader, self-managing, well organized, an effective negotiator, able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and confidently interacting with all levels of management and counterparts in both internal PACCAR customers and external supplier entities. JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES In this role you be responsible but not limited to the following: Manage a team of Supplier Quality Managers located in North America Coordinate Quality teams in China and Dynacraft. Establish methods to communicate and align PACCAR's supply base to achieve quality objectives. Ensure defects are quickly contained and addressed first time right. Prevent defects by improving supplier capabilities. Support suppliers to achieve 10 PPM and reduce warranty. Identify and develop processes to improve supplier selection and management, new product implementation and business sourcing. Partner with management to improve APQP/PPAP Processes. Drive improvement in Corporate supplier interface tools such as the supplier portal, scorecard, Supplier Quality Manual, etc. Ability to travel to internal and external suppliers. Hire, onboard and mentor Supplier Quality Managers. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 10+ years of experience in operational leadership positions in quality, engineering, or manufacturing. Demonstrated team building and mentoring skills, effective conflict resolution skills, ability to drive change and get results. Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Must be able to multi-task. Ability to solve complex problems. Demonstrated leadership owning major issues and driving resolution, while ensuring all stakeholders are well informed. Demonstrated ability to implement quality improvement projects. Familiarity with multiple manufacturing processes, controls and expectations. EDUCATION Master degree in technical discipline. Discrete Manufacturing Process Knowledge. Six Sigma Black Belt, Formal Lean training / ASQ CQE or CQM Certification preferred.
