Emerson LAN Design Engineer (1 year) in CLUJ NAPOCA, Romania

As a LAN Design Engineer, you will work as part of the global LAN service engineering group within the Network Solutions, DEIS team. This position will be predominately focusing on the design and engineering of services within our growing and continuously evolving LAN Services portfolio, with an emphasis on the Managed LAN and Managed Wireless Services (including Managed DHCP and IPAM Services), that are delivered and operated in a globally consistent manner by service delivery & operations teams.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Working with Managed LAN/WLAN Services Manager on the evaluation of new technologies, growth, development, of LAN Services that align with service roadmaps;

  • Working in a multi-functional team to develop LAN Services requirements, standards, deliverables, and other projects and services as needed;

  • Ensuring LAN Services are designed to ensure a high level of quality and consistency using existing and new technologies;

  • Working with the Service Delivery & Operations group to train, support, and educate, so they deliver services with reliability and consistency across the enterprise;

  • Working with other service teams to develop designs, standards, procedures, and training to ensure compatibility and support within LAN Services;

  • Providing top level design expertise for provisioning projects to ensure alignment with LAN Services for greenfield, brownfield, acquisitions, and custom designs;

  • Providing last level support to Service Delivery and Operations teams for escalated LAN Services issues;

Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • BA/BS in Information Systems or related area (or equivalent experience);

  • 2 years of experience in the design, implementation and operation of Local Area Networks and/or Wireless networks with Cisco & FortiGate hardware in an enterprise environment;

  • 3 years of service transition or service engineering experience;

  • Knowledge of LAN and WLAN technologies such Ethernet protocols, multi-gigabit networks, fiber networks, 802.11x, wireless access via FlexConnect and WLC, end to end wireless QOS through WMM;

  • Experienced in troubleshooting and implementing Cisco Catalyst line of products (LAN & WLAN), Fortinet (LAN & Firewalls), and Juniper mist;

  • Ability to collaborate with other engineers, technical specialist, and vendors to provide feedback for improvements and designs with services.

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • RF knowledge;

  • Cisco LAN Certifications;

  • ITIL v3 Foundation Level.
