Salvation Army Service Extension Area Manager in Cloquet, Minnesota

Position Summary The Salvation Army Northern Division Northern Minnesota Service Extension Area Manager provides supervision to social services staff and programs. The Manager is also responsible for providing emergency assistance and providing a full range of case management services to Pathway of Hope (POH) participants. POH is responsible for providing targeted services to participants with a desire to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of intergenerational poverty. Northern MN area $51,174 - $76,760 annually Essential Functions (approximate time spent) * Supervise social services programs (e.g., POH, emergency assistance) and thrift stores, if assigned, including staff and volunteer recruitment and oversight, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. (40%) * Oversee seasonal and special events (e.g., fundraising, recognition events, camp). (20%) * Provide program participants with direct assistance (e.g., foodshelf, Heatshare, vouchers). (15%) * Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry. (10%) * Cultivate donor relationships and sponsorships. (5%) * Recruit qualifying participants for POH and promote Salvation Army programs with participants and throughout the community. (5%) * Engage in internal and external activities to promote and further The Salvation Army and POH goals and objectives. (5%) Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree in relevant field. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered. * If degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board. * Previous social services experience with increasing responsibility required. * Previous staff supervision highly preferred. * Experience conducting long-term case management preferred. * Must pass background checks, possess valid driver's license, and meet MVR requirements. Competencies * Flexible interpersonal and communication skills. * High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. * Works with integrity, valuing honesty, and diligence. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment. Working Conditions * Mostly sedentary work, sitting for long periods of time and working on a computer. * Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. * Must be able communicate clearly in English. * Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends. * Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds. Supervisory Responsibilities Provide supervision, mentorship, and training to the Social Services team of employees and volunteers. Make employment recommendations to supervisor. Driving/Travel Requirements Drive personal or agency vehicle to support the mission of The Salvation Army.
