Job Details

Multiple positions, available in various locations

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalency. Valid NYS Drivers’ License. Associates Degree preferred.

Job Summary: In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for assisting the counseling staff and client safety & security.

Job Requirements:

Duties

  1. Responsible for carrying out treatment planning in milieu.

  2. Facilitates activities of daily living, community meetings, and engagement.

  3. Assists therapists and primary counselors to intervene to help provide therapeutic interventions to foster resident’s social, cognitive, and behavioral skill development.

  4. Provide transportation for clients to and from treatment related appointments or community activities.

  5. Interface with community support systems, agencies and families.

  6. Report to immediate supervisor any changes noted in any clients' medical condition, mental status or behavior and then document it on the appropriate paperwork when requested.

  7. Participate in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings held by the Agency.

  8. Assist clients in addressing issues and challenges by role-modeling appropriated responses.

  9. Assist in teaching the clients about personal care, household chores, daily living, community resources and safety awareness.

  10. Actively participate with the program team in completing proper daily maintenance of living areas including cleaning and maintaining an orderly environment. Assist with light cleaning.

  11. Complete overnight checklist of designated tasks (for evening and overnight shift assignments).

  12. Assist clients with budget, grocery shopping and meal preparation as appropriate to treatment plan level of care.

  13. Participate in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings held by the Agency.

  14. Assist clients in addressing issues and challenges by role-modeling appropriated responses.

  15. Assist in teaching the clients about personal care, household chores, daily living, community resources and safety awareness.

  16. Actively participate with the program team in completing proper daily maintenance of living areas including cleaning and maintaining an orderly environment. Assist with light cleaning.

  17. Complete overnight checklist of designated tasks (for evening and overnight shift assignments).

  18. Assist clients with budget, grocery shopping and meal preparation as appropriate to treatment plan level of care.

  19. Support client in goal attainment.

  20. Esurance of safety and security of all clients, staff and facilities.

  21. Trained for assisting in medication pass as needed in Part 820 (Maxwell Hall and Otte Hall) and Part 819 (Cadence Community Residence)

  22. Perform other duties and functions as directed.
