Job Description

The Resident Engineer (RE) / Engineer of Record (EOR) will be responsible for the effective administration of design and design changes throughout construction and will interact closely with the Client. Resident Engineer will have daily contact with the Client’s Construction Manager. The Resident Engineer will have oversight responsibility for quality assurance of the construction.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the Project Quality Plans interface satisfactorily with the requirements of the Contract.

  • Ensure implementation of the Quality Plan for the project.

  • Respond to CM RFCs (Requests for Clarifications) and Contractor’s RFIs (Request for Information) on interpretation of Contract documents, assist in resolution of unanticipated field conditions, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Coordinate the activities of the contracts with outside agencies and utilities.

  • Direct public and media inquiries to the appropriate department representatives.

  • Manage technical review Contractor’s submittals by design team.

  • Manage the preparation of change requests to address field conditions and stakeholder requests.

  • Conduct project Design Coordination meetings.

  • Ensure staff maintains high ethical standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BS Civil, Construction, Structural or related and a minimum of 10 years experience

  • New Jersey Professional Engineer License (P.E.)

  • Minimum of 10 Years specifically related to engineering services during construction.

  • Must have supervised two [2] completed construction projects with a minimum of $50 Million for each project. The projects shall have included infrastructure type work – Piles, Reinforced Concrete structures, with site civil components in a dense urban environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in a lead role (e.g., Lead Technical Project Engineer / Project Manager / Engineer of Record on at least one construction projects completed greater than $50Million.

  • Valid U.S. Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • NJDEP Client Experience.

  • Offered rate of compensation (New York City locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $180,000 -235,000.
