Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.

Summary:

Ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all electrical, mechanical, plumbing, medical air, gas and vacuum, HVAC, steam, refrigeration, and control systems that serve the MHMC complex. Ensures an appropriate environment of care. Supervises a multi-disciplined skilled trades’ staff and coordinates the workflow, administrative and analytical functions within this area of Facilities Management. Manages building systems and equipment in accordance with regulatory standards and appropriate industry practices; maintains required documentation. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.

Qualifications:

Required: High School graduate or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Four years of relevant experience maintaining building systems and equipment. Technical training on most of the following: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, medical air, gas and vacuum, HVAC, steam, refrigeration, and control systems. Able to read blue prints Understanding of energy management principles Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Strong oral and written communication skills Strong customer service skills Skilled in the use of computer basics: e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets Must be able to perform on-site inspections and observations of all facilities related areas

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Two or more years of supervisory experience. Journeyman status in an applicable trade or 4 years equivalent experience Working knowledge of TJC, CMMS, OSHA, ADA, OBC Eight years of experience 3rd Class Stationary Engineers License Applicable State of Ohio Contractors License

Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
