Job ID 12550 Location Case Main Campus Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Job Description POSITION OBJECTIVE The Recruiting Manager is responsible for full-cycle recruiting of talent for research positions, as well as other areas of the university as assigned by the VP for Human Resources. The manager will focus on School of Medicine staff recruitments and create an environment of excellence in the delivery of employment solutions, services, and resources; and lead special projects. The manager will meet School of Medicine (clients') needs by finding candidates that match Case Western Reserve University's organizational culture and open job positions. The manager will need to make sound recruitment decisions as well as demonstrate excellent communication, management, and problem-solving skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Engage the stakeholder / client in the development of staffing and hiring plans. Develop and manage the School of Medicine research personnel resource plan and evaluate progress/outcomes against hiring needs. Build relationship with chairs, researchers and administrators. Lead and guide the client through the process of identifying the staffing needs, preparing job descriptions defining the talent and skills needed, considering budget and advising on compensation parameters, and developing a recruitment strategy to attract a diverse applicant pool. Collaborate with others across the university to include in the strategic planning process as necessary. Maintain relationships to influence and impact successful employment process and hiring. (30%) Develop sourcing and recruitment strategies to meet the client needs. Considering multiple variables (i.e. talent needs, labor market considers, applicant diversity, etc.). Identify and leverage resources, such as advertising, college recruitment, local agencies, and industry partnerships. Source candidates and actively recruit a diverse qualified applicant pool. Develop a pool of qualified research candidates in advance of need. Research and implement new recruiting sources for active and passive candidates. Build networks to find qualified passive candidates. Oversee outreach initiatives and programs to attract a diverse applicant pool (i.e. minorities, women, veterans, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ community, etc.). (15%) Responsible for full-cycle recruiting of talent for research positions. Provide guidance to managers on all matters related to employment including interpretation of human resources policies and procedures, affirmative action, interviewing and employment laws. Execute recruiting plans for research positions and assigned areas. Meet and conduct regular follow-up with research managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation. Screen and evaluate resumes of research positions and other positions as assigned by VP. Review and analyze candidates' qualifications against job requirements for appropriate matches. Evaluate candidate credentials and determine position eligibility for new hires and internal transfers. Conduct prescreening phone interviews and/or campus interviews. Ensure all pertinent applicant and interview data is recorded in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Submit and present the best qualified candidates to hiring managers. Advise in interviewing and selecting employees. Perform reference and background checks for potential employees. Conduct salary analysis, ensure university equity, and determine total compensation package for potential new hires and internal transfers. Manage negotiation of employment terms with candidates.
