Description Job Summary The CES Project Engineer I is a critical path resource on the Messer CES Construction Team. The team consists of project engineers, administrative resources, and regionally based field construction technicians, with the primary responsibility of installing cryogenic liquid and gaseous supply systems at customer sites. CES Project Engineers safely manage and successfully execute all assigned projects for customer sites, for the Messer CES organization, including standard and complex bulk liquid and bulk gas supply stations. Principal Responsibilities: Manage all project activities, successfully manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Coordinate with sales and the customer as SPOC (single point of contact) to establish project objectives, scope, and timelines Ensure project compliance with all required Messer and Industry codes, standards, drawings, and best practices (ie. NFPA, CGA, ASME), with guidance from managers and other Technical resources in the CES organization. Coordinate with technical support resources (internal and external), and procurement, to obtain required project material and equipment costs, labor, and delivery times, for use in proposed customer solution Establish and execute project deliverables, including: scope of work, schedule, budget, all required drawings/schematics, procurement of equipment and components, construction package, As-Builts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting, and other required project administrative tasks Prepare project budgets, system design, equipment review and specification, IO requests, contractor bids, with all required supporting documentation Execute basic projects successfully as SPOC (single point of contact) with Messer customers, contractors, vendors, and internal resources. Support intermediately complex projects with appropriate support from Markets Project Execution and/or other CES Technical experts. Maintain expected project profitability and schedule timelines, provide project deliverables on time Identify and manage all scope changes and cost adders, documenting as such for mutual resolution with commercial and customer contacts Conduct frequent project reviews with internal and external stakeholders and management Assist field-based construction technicians in project commissioning and start up Provide customer safety training, O&M manuals transmittal, Responsible Care documented sign-off Provide basic technical assessment of projects to ensure proper equipment is being installed Participate in design and operability hazard reviews (HAZOPs), and Process Safety Reviews Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial equipment project management preferred or a graduate of Messer's Graduate Development Program (GDP) Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or civil engineering (or similar technical discipline) required. 7 years of industrial gases experience acceptable in lieu of degree Industry experience in cryogenics preferred About Messer Messer's safety culture, commitment to providing dependable supply and innovative gas techn
