The Sherwin-Williams Company Portfolio Manager in Cleveland, Ohio

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to a portfolio of programs within the Enterprise Data & Insights (ED&I) organization. This role is critical in ensuring that the programs are aligned with the organization's overall strategy and goals, and that they are delivered successfully. The Portfolio Manager will collaborate with program managers, project managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and senior leadership to establish priorities, allocate resources, and drive the execution of ED&I programs. Additionally, they will establish governance processes and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability across the portfolio. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Provide strategic direction and guidance to program managers and their teams to ensure the successful delivery of ED&I programs Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to align programs with the organization's strategic objectives Establish and maintain governance processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to project management standards Allocate resources effectively across programs and ensure that the portfolio is appropriately balanced in terms of priorities and resource availability Monitor program progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful delivery Oversee the coordination and collaboration between program managers and cross-functional teams to achieve program goals Communicate program status, progress, and risks to stakeholders at various levels within the organization Provide mentorship and guidance to program managers, supporting their professional development and growth FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or in lieu of related degree, at least 8 years of experience portfolio, program management and/or project management roles Preferred: Related certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2 or Agile) preferred KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: 12+ years of experience in portfolio or program management roles 6+ years of experience managing and leading a team of direct reports Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated track record of driving strategic initiatives and delivering results Experience in resource allocation and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices Experience in managing large-scale programs or portfolios TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: Project Management Methodologies (e.g., Agile, Microsoft Project, Gantt charts) Data Analytics and Visualization Tools (e.g., Tableau and MicroStrategy) Big Data Concepts (e.g., Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, NoSQL databases) Cloud Infrastructure and Technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) Data Management or Analytics Software (e.g., Informatica, IBM, Oracle) Vendor Management Travel 5% Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
