Piping Designer -- Position and Responsibilities As a Piping Designer with Middough, you will create and establish complex designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. The Piping Designer will also apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects to ensure that all established Company design standards and practices are followed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinate work tasks with Piping Discipline Manager. Collect and prepare data/information and generate design and detail drawings including orthographic, isometrics, etc. Perform CAD Design of basic equipment layouts and piping routings that are consistent with codes, standards, and client requirements. Interact with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information. Assist with field work, checking installations and problem-solving activities. Maintain and update the 3D model as required. Participate in intra-disciplinary meetings as requested by the Piping Discipline Manager or Project Manager. Interact with internal resources to convey project design and identify scope changes. Assure all QA / QC standards are adhered to. Education, Experience and Skills The successful candidate will possess the following: Associate degree in a technical discipline with +/- 5 years of relevant experience. 5 years of relevant experience, process piping preferred. 2D piping design capability using AutoCAD, 3D CAD piping design capability using Autodesk Plant 3D, and SolidWORKS or Inventor. Basic experience in developing equipment, overall facility layouts, preparation of 3D piping models, preparation of orthographic drawings, isometrics, and bill of materials. Understanding of piping systems for industrial facilities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multi-task and be highly organized for effective project planning. Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
