MetroHealth Patient Care Nurse Assistant- Adult Stroke/Neuro Care, 6W 72Hrs Nights in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 1900-0730; 2300-0730

All Acute Care Adult Specialty units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and telemetry monitoring capability!

Join our Acute Care Adult Stroke/Neuro Care Unit, 6-A West!

Primary Patient Population:

  • Stroke

  • Minor Neurological Disorders

  • Embedded in Neuro Critical Care Unit

Primary skills utilized/learned:

  • Neurological patient care

  • Telemetry monitoring

  • Taking vital signs (i.e. temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).

  • Implementing and/or reinforcing fall prevention strategies.

Personnel RN will work with :

  • LPNs, Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

  • 12 beds (can flex to 15 beds)

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

  • Gold Standard of Care for Stroke Patients

  • Stroke Certified

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.

  • Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.

  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as a STNA is optional after employment in this position).

  • 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
