Job Description

The Manager will lead the data portion of the SAP ERP implementation and the development of the standard data conversion processes for the divisional deployments. This person will create the overall data conversion strategy to streamline and scale the activities required to extract, transform, load, and cleanse the data as it moves from a legacy ERP environment into an SAP S/4 solution. The manager will be responsible for designing and developing the data structure, selecting the tools required, and structuring and organizing the team to create a data conversion process that can support a large deployment of SAP S/4.

Scope/Supervision and Interaction: This role will have direct reports; Reports to the Enterprise Director of IT

Directly supervises the team working on the data conversion and data governance processes and strategies for system implementation and divisional deployments. Directs team working with internal and external IT and consulting functions supporting the data conversion strategy and operations. Provides guidance, direction, and status on the divisional data conversion activities, data governance processes, and deployment activities related to data conversion to SAP Project Management Office. Works closely with functional leads, the MSS Data Conversion team, the Group SAP Data Conversion lead, the SAP Consulting Team, the SAP Business Technology team, the SAP Divisional Deployment team, SAP project management, and other Parker third party providers. Works closely with other directors within IT to ensure the SAP Data Conversion Strategy aligns with other corporate strategies.

Essential functions

  • Directs the data conversion team in data load and data governance activities into an SAP S4 system

  • Responsible for SAP data conversion and data governance strategy in cooperation with the SAP S4 strategy.

  • Responsible for the performance management of the data SAP workstream.

  • Supervise the SAP data analysts and other supporting team members.

  • Coordinates with the Division SAP data leads to ensure on time and high-quality delivery of the data required to convert into SAP

  • Addresses challenges and roadblocks that occur from unstructured data within the divisions to align to the data conversion strategy

  • Responsible for the data portion of the division cutover activities working closely with the SAP Deployment Lead to ensure a strategy and process that would be complete with high quality data within the required timeframe defined by the business.

  • Coordinate with the Parker Business Process team to ensure business requirements are met through the data conversion process

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present and explain technical information to various audiences

  • Direct the building of data conversion processes in the Parker data conversion tools.

  • Prepare annual and long-range strategic data conversion and data governance plans, in conjunction with the SAP roadmap.

  • Responsible for identification of additional improvement opportunities in data conversion and data governance, and work towards the development, presentation and successful adoption for these projects.

  • Support various corporate requests as needed and required by Enterprise Director IT

Qualifications

  • Minimum four-year bachelor’s degree

  • 12 or more years’ experience within multiple data conversion and data governance functions

  • SAP S/4 implementation experience required

  • Experience working with system implementations and system data loads

  • Data conversion and data governance experience

  • Strong managerial, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with SAP Business Objects Data Service, Informatica PowerCenter, and SAP Information Steward
