MetroHealth Maintenance Building Engineperson - Facilities Engineering in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 10:30 pm - 6:30 am

Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.

Summary:

Operates/inspects/performs preventative maintenance on major HVAC/hospital equipment, and repairs malfunctions if possible. Operates/performs routine maintenance of all Power House/major HVAC equipment. Monitors various hospital equipment from the control center. Responds to/mitigates/reports any building emergencies. Upholds mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Documented completion of coursework/training focusing on stationary engineering, air conditioning, refrigeration, steam fitting, and/or electricity at an accredited school. Possess a minimum of a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer’s License for the State of Ohio. 4 years of documented experience as a Licensed Stationary Engineer. Possess a current, valid Driver’s License. Ability to read and utilize blue prints. Solid problem solving skills, and able to use sound judgment. Good interpersonal skills. Basic personal computer skills. Basic math skills. Ability to follow directions. Ability to work independently/with minimal supervision, or as part of a team. Willing and able to adjust from the standard work schedule as needed for operational coverage, including days that are not normally worked, and at locations not normally assigned.

Preferred: Prior experience operating a 200 ton or larger capacity chiller(s). 8 years of experience as a Licensed Stationary Engineer. Prior Healthcare industry experience.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to climb intermittently during the day. Ability to push/pull 70-150 pounds. Ability to lift 10-40 pounds. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
