We are seeking for a Lead Scientist I , specialized in Plastic and Elastomer Electromagnetic Materials for our Cleveland, Ohio Team.

The Lead Scientist I, provides research into specific applications such as improved quality of existing products, more cost-effective manufacturing processes, a new product line or new area of business. Delivers the technology and process capability needed to operate, maintain, and improve manufacturing operations. Collaborates with the business and manufacturing teams to define process technology direction and programs to the business

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Senior technical professional with high competency in electromagnetic, RF absorber, and dielectric materials.

  • Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of thermoplastics, elastomers, and magnetic and electrically conductive fillers including both formulation and testing.

  • Knowledge and ability to conduct experimental work using twin screw compounding extruders and injection molding equipment is preferred.

  • Develop new product and technology aligned to market needs and company strategy.

  • Leads technical projects through development and implementation and is seen as a trusted business partner with a proven track record of demonstrated success.

  • Solves diverse and challenging problems that arise from changing priorities or new situations.

  • Summarizing and recommending path-forwards based on experimental results.

  • Working with scientists and other engineers to scale processes to commercial production with both internal and external partners.

  • Provide customer technical support on the product portfolio and coordinate the generation of technical data necessary to qualify the product for customers and targeted applications.

  • Writing and communicating technical reports and presentations.

  • Managing intellectual property (IP); understanding relevant IP and competitive landscapes and actively developing new IP.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in science (Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Required: 10+ years of experience in product design.
