Case Western Reserve University Clerk 4 in Cleveland, Ohio

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Working independently, performing clerical tasks to support the operations group. The purpose of this research study is to conduct an exploration of the lived experience of caregivers who are caring for persons living with Alzheimer's and related dementias. The study clerk will assist with day-to-day activities to accomplish support around study objectives. The clerk will be responsible for various administrative tasks, record keeping, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and assisting in coordinating events.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Devise procedures and make recommendations for the processing involved in maintaining complex record-keeping and/or filing systems specific to the research study, ensuring meticulous documentation, data integrity, and adherence to regulatory guidelines. (20%)
  2. Collaborate closely with departmental managers to identify research study-related information and reporting needs essential for effective project management and decision-making. (20%)
  3. Take ownership of inventory management for research supplies, including procurement, tracking, and distribution, to support the seamless execution of the study protocols. (20%)
  4. Foster ongoing communication and collaboration with stakeholders involved in the research study to address challenges, troubleshoot issues, and facilitate smooth progress towards study objectives. (20%)
  5. Execute additional tasks and assignments as directed, contributing to the successful completion and outcomes of the research study. Assist in coordinating departmental events, meetings, and appointments, including scheduling, preparing materials, and arranging logistics, to support efficient operations and collaboration within the Nursing Department. (15%)

     

NONESSENTIAL FUNCITONS

  1. Manage administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and filing, to ensure accurate documentation and organization of departmental information. Collect and distribute incoming correspondence promptly. Execute copying tasks using photocopying machines, ensuring accurate reproduction of documents. Facilitate communication within the department by answering phone calls, responding to emails, and relaying messages promptly and professionally. (3%)
  2. Complete assigned miscellaneous duties as required, supporting departmental operations, and demonstrating flexibility in task execution. (2%)

     

CONTACTS

Department: Continuous contact with project manager to discuss research and maintain workflow. At least weekly contact with principal investigator as a part of regular team meetings.

University: Occasional contact with other departments, such as the institutional review office to maintain workflow.

External: Continuous contact with study participants for enrollment and survey administration. Weekly to monthly contact with study partners, such as community recruitment sites. Monthly contact with non-Case Western Reserve University investigators.

Students: Daily to weekly contact with other students involved in the research study.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervision of staff employees. However, this position does lead junior level clerks in day-to-day activities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 4 to 5 years of related experience required.

Education: High school education required.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  2. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  3. Ability to operate copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
