MetroHealth Patient Safety Associate- Thought Disorder Unit, Cleveland Heights in CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio

Location: Cleveland Heights Health Center

Biweekly Hours: 48.00

Shift: 7a-7:30pm/7p-7:30am Rotating Shifts. Rotating Weekends and holidays

Summary:

Ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees, and hospital property by rounding in behavioral health units and the emergency department, engaging patients, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment while working in collaboration with clinical teams.

Qualifications:

Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. 2 years of experience working in a Behavioral Health setting, corrections or healthcare facility, or other related experience. Training in WELLE or obtained within 90 days of hire. Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or obtains it within 90 days of hire. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Capacity to manage stressful situations, problem-solve quickly, and react appropriately during psychiatric emergencies. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred: Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, or another related field from an accredited institution. Experience working as a security guard

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate frequently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
