If you have avalid driver's license with a good driving record and want to make a difference in peoples' lives, this is the job for you! Our Route Delivery Drivers are responsible for delivering meals to senior citizens and other at-risk populations, according to assigned route. TheRoute Delivery Driver position ensures timely and accurate delivery of meals to customers according to assigned route and maintains food safety and handling procedures with compliance to temperature requirements.

Route Delivery Driver Essential Duties:

  • Perfect or near perfect attendance at their previous employers
  • Safe delivery of food items and supplies to customer homes in a timely and accurate manner
  • Vehicle upkeep and cleanliness
  • Report any deficiencies or problems to supervisor promptly
  • Maintain driver scorecard
  • Check vehicle fluid levels and perform general routine inspection of vehicle to ensure all is in working order
  • Assist with packing and/or storing of food items, components and/or supplies as required
  • Assist with production duties as needed
  • Great customer service and communication skillsand a "can do" attitude
  • Recordkeeping as required
  • Participate in all required company training
  • May have access to confidential information as necessary to perform job functions, and as such, is required to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • May drive up to 16' Box truck or smaller commercial vehicle
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Route Delivery Driver Requirements:

  • Some physical activity to include pallet jack operation and loading and unloading of trucks is required
  • Must possess min. valid Texas regular operator license
  • Strong planning skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Must have current DOT medical card (or are able to pass the DOT medical exam) and also must successfully pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Prior route/delivery/distribution experience required
  • Compassion and empathy for those in need is a fundamental orientation our most successful employees possess

Physical Demands:

  • If delivering to sites, would push/pull medium warmers on wheels up to 320 lbs., larger warmers up to 370 lbs depending on route
  • Lift, carry and deliver coolers weighing up to 40 lbs depending on route
  • If delivery to customer homes, would lift and carry generally 1-2 boxes weighing up to 15 lbs each
  • Under 1/3 Standing time
  • Walk, Climb or balance
  • Stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl
  • Taste or smell
  • 1/3 to 2/3Use hands to finger/handle/feel, Reach with hands and arms
  • Over 2/3: Sit, See, Talk or hear
  • Ability to lift up to50 lbs
