Our client, a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of life science research products and specialty chemicals, is actively searching for a skilled Accountant to play a pivotal role in their newly acquired company. As an integral member of their finance team, you will be the key liaison to corporate, spearheading accounting initiatives to elevate efficiency and precision.

As an Accountant, you will streamline financial processes and contribute to the success of our growing enterprise. Your responsibilities will include conducting general accounting functions, providing crucial support to local leadership, and ensuring a seamless integration of financial systems.

We are seeking an individual with a strong background in accounting, particularly in a manufacturing environment, with a general understanding of Standard Cost Accounting (product cost accounting).

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic accounting support to the local leadership team, adeptly introducing them to corporate policies and regulations. Foster a seamless integration with a keen focus on aligning financial practices with organizational objectives.

  • Uphold financial accuracy by meticulously maintaining Journal Entries, ensuring that all transactions are not only current but also reflect the highest standards of precision.

  • Take charge of the General Ledger with precision, conducting trial balances and flawlessly closing the monthly books.

  • Conduct comprehensive Account Reconciliations, meticulously comparing balances to ensure alignment and swiftly resolving any discrepancies.

  • Showcase your expertise in Cash Management, overseeing and reconciling the cash account and other critical areas.

  • Engage in a thorough financial analysis, addressing variances and anomalies which provide a valuable perspective on financial performance.

  • Demonstrate your proficiency in Standard (Product) Cost Accounting, bringing a wealth of experience to enhance cost management practices within the organization.

  • Embrace a dynamic role where adaptability is key, performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Possess extensive knowledge of both general financial accounting and specialized cost accounting, particularly in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Specialization includes a focus on product costing.

  • Exhibit a track record of thriving in collaborative and high-productivity environments. Successfully integrate into mature and successful teams, contributing seamlessly with a proactive and results-oriented approach.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the highest standards in financial practices, with a solid understanding of and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Showcase proficiency in handling accounting software, with a notable background in QuickBooks Financials or an exceptional ability to quickly adapt to and excel in diverse accounting software environments.

  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on skills in Excel

  • Possess outstanding organizational skills coupled with an unwavering attention to detail, ensuring meticulous accuracy in financial records and reporting.

  • Excel in both written and verbal communication, articulating complex financial concepts with clarity. Communicate seamlessly with stakeholders at all levels, contributing to transparent and effective financial discourse.
