TelCom Construction Procurement Specialist in Clearwater, Minnesota

Overview and Essential Functions

Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, this position is responsible for the day to day purchasing of inventory and non-inventory items.

Responsibilities:

• Orders supplies from approved vendors and follows up on due dates;

• Coordinates purchased materials to arrive to their appropriate location;

• Provides updates to management of potential problems as necessary;

• Maintains positive vendor relationships;

• Develops and creates reports for material demand, forecast and spend purposes;

• Manages the material purchase process including but not limited to:

▪ issuing purchase orders,

▪ determining timing of material purchases to ensure best pricing while meeting job needs,

▪ tracks purchases to ensure appropriate delivery as needed;

• Manages inventory for specific jobs including maintaining inventory lists, determining when inventory should

be transferred, reconciling inventory and reporting inventory levels;

• Manages Min/Max purchasing;

• Creates purchasing requisitions within internal systems;

• Reconciles and approves invoices in conjunction with the Accounting Department;

• Some material handling duties as needed (eg: unloading shipments using a forklift, assisting with inventory counts, etc);

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a business-related discipline or 3 years of purchasing and inventory experience; or combination of education and experience is required;

• Possess or willing to obtain Forklift certification;

• Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record is required;

• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed;

• Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide;

• Proficient word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and cloud-based computer skills are required, prior experience using Google suite of applications is preferred;
