ABOUT THE ROLE

Be part of a team that design and develop test procedures and standards for extraordinarily complex products. You will participate in the development and certification of environment test functionality across multiple products and applications. This will enable you to support new products, processes, standards, or operational plans within the organization's business strategies, with a direct impact on business results. The Sr Eng Tech will perform radiation testing of various components and systems for radiation characterization and component up screening. The operation of radiation sources along with repair/maintenance of radiation sources requires mechanical and electrical work described in manuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Onsite - 1st shift 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday -Friday

  • Perform radiation testing of various components and systems for radiation characterization and component up screening

  • Repair/maintenance of radiation sources requires mechanical and electrical work described in manuals

  • Follow test plans to conduct radiation testing onsite

  • Set up hardware, handle components, test fixture design, electrical test development, testing at external radiation test facilities

  • Analyze and interpret test data

  • Lead and/or participate on teams that resolve technical issues

  • Close interface with other cross site and cross functional organizations to include systems, design, and test

  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs. on a regular basis without assistance

  • Must be able to obtain security clearance or possess an active security clearance

  • Travel up to 25%

US CITIZEN REQUIREMENT

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years of component test experience

  • Strong electronics, electrical and/or mechanical background required for repair and maintenance

  • Understanding of vacuum systems and associated pumps

  • Extensive knowledge of general-purpose test equipment must include advanced understanding of oscilloscopes, RF generators, power sources and spectrum analyzers

  • Associate's degree in electronics or equivalent military training

WE VALUE

  • Experience performing system level tests including characterization, data acquisition setup, and noise reduction techniques

  • Strong electronic analysis skills and problem-solving

  • able to multi-task, work independently, and work with test engineers and other technicians

  • Strong communications skills are essential to provide team input and feedback to Test engineers for evaluation

  • Experience with LabView, MS Excel-Intermediate and Python

  • Soldering certification, a plus
