Waste Connections Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer in Clearlake, California

Quackenbush Resource, a Waste Connections Company, is currently hiring for a full time Equipment Laborer/Operator to work out of our site in Clearlake, CA !

Schedule is Monday through Saturday, maintaining a 40 hour work week . Starting pay is $20 per hour . The pay range for this job category is $20-$24 per hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to efficiently operate screeners, loaders, excavator and other equipment as needed.

  • Assists with the scale house as needed.

  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

  • Sorting trash from green waste loads.

  • General laborer duties as assigned.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment is required.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.

  • Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.

  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

  • Basic knowledge of computer skills.
