Description:

The CRA Officer's key role is to implement an effective program to ensure the Bank meets the needs of the community and attains Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) goals. Specifically, the CRA Officer's responsibilities include the following:

    • Implement and administer the Bank's CRA program.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with community-based, charitable, and non-profit organizations.
    • Develop and implement programs to ensure the Bank meets the needs of the community and attains CRA goals.
    • Advise senior management of emerging CRA issues to ensure objectives are met.
    • Ensure appropriate training related to CRA is provided to employees based on job duties.
    • Assist the VP / Compliance with internal audit and regulatory requests when applicable.
    • Participate in team meetings related to lending or deposit initiatives to provide input on regulatory compliance matters.

FOCUS ON ACCURACY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Research, analyze and interpret all applicable CRA regulations and statues. Perform detailed loan file reviews to validate compliance of CRA reporting requirements. Ensure that accurate data is maintained and prepared timely for the required annual government submission. Responsible for maintaining the Bank's CRA policy and Public Files.

 

PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL TEAM SUPPORT

Provide accurate and timely answers to all CRA related inquiries. Engage with staff and the training department to develop solutions when data integrity issues have been identified or when regulatory change occurs.

 

FOSTER OUR CULTURE

Focus on finding solutions to improve the client and employee experiences. Participate in team meetings related to lending or deposit initiatives to help build knowledge of department processes and how compliance affects other areas of the bank. Some travel may be required.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual is required to perform each crucial job requirement satisfactorily and a skills inventory is listed below. A Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.     • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents. Possesses professional communication and interpersonal skills to write and speak optimally both one-on-one and before groups of clients or employees of the organization.     • TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Ability to use telephone systems and possess good digital literacy including email, internet and intranet use. Prior experience or the ability to learn core transaction system, loan origination system, CRA reporting software, Word, Excel, and any other computer programs pertinent to performing job duties.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to tackle challenging problems involving several variables in a standardized situation.
    • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to optimally perform the essential functions of this job. This position operates in a professional office environment with considerable time spent at a desk using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Noise level is moderate with constant communication and interactions with others. Ability to travel on occasion to all market areas and attend seminars or training sessions offsite.
