The NY Facilities Superintendent Supervisor runs the superintendents organization to complete facility construction projects. They plan, and schedule facility modifications, including labor, materials, and other things related. They design and develop organizational policies relevant to the facilities department. They may also have responsibility for establishing and being responsible for health and safety standards. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Advises on how to best meet schedules and resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Environmental Health, Safety, and Security

  • Exercise due diligence to prevent and detect safety and environmental hazards and violations.

  • Demonstrate support for EHS programs to reinforce a positive culture for EHS activities and the execution of the EHS management systems throughout the organization.

  • Provide team members the resources vital to fulfill their EHS responsibilities.

  • Clearly communicate expectations and carry out safety and environmental policies.

  • Promptly implement preventative and corrective actions when gaps in expectations are identified.

  • Communicate problems or concerns to the appropriate individual immediately.

Department Management

  • Commit to efficiency in all work processes.

  • Oversee project planning, construction, remodels, building code and regulatory compliance.

  • Provide leadership to all Facility construction projects, develop a working relationship with Department Managers and encourage teamwork.

  • Promote Company, Department and Area policies and objectives; clearly communicate these policies and objective to Site Facilities group managers.

  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of standards, policies and procedures for the installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance of plant support systems.

  • Ensure that costs and budgets are developed and maintained for contracts, acquisition of equipment, operating materials and labor.

  • Ensure that staffing levels are efficient and adequate to maintain the plant.

  • Establish and communicate goals, expectations and direction for the Site Facilities department.

  • Inform team members of Company and Facilities changes in policies and procedures.

  • Managing performance plans for all direct employees and conduct performance evaluations, ensuring that career path opportunities are being developed.

Strategic Communication

  • Communicate department goals and Line of Sight to NY’s areas of focus

  • Provide periodic department updates to review current status and future goals and objectives.

  • Articulate compelling and inspiring visions and strategies.

  • Communicate customer expectations to the organization.

Promote and exemplify a leader-led development culture

  • Advocate a performance management culture, monitoring the use of the performance management system

  • Ensure that department learning and development opportunities are identified and fulfilled.

  • Develop and promote technical expertise in the group by supporting training.

  • Responsible for planning and coordinating facility projects: tool install, base build and COs.

  • Insure projects are driven to the scope within budget and schedule.

  • Insure appropriate documentation exists and is communicated regarding scope changes that differ from the drawings or are required due to field conditions affecting budget and schedule.

Strategic Leadership

  • Identify, develop, and implement organizational initiatives that drive benchmark culture.

  • Provide ideas and recommendations to site leadership on department initiatives.

  • Know the competition; be aware of how strategies and tactics work in the market place.

  • Create driven and innovative strategies and plans.

  • Foster an environment where innovative thinking and intelligent risk taking is promoted..

  • Be visible in problem solving efforts; provide guidance for effective and timely resolution.

  • Identify, understand and mitigate risk before making critical decisions.

Program Management

  • Drive a culture of project management within the group

  • Prioritize and approve projects to align with NY’s areas of focus.

  • Provide project resources and remove barriers.

  • Actively sponsor change initiatives.

  • Incorporate organizational change methodologies.

Cost Management

  • Participate in quarterly department budget that aligns with site goals.

  • Drive innovative, strategic solutions for cost reduction.

  • Maintain the most efficient staffing model for the organization.

  • Cost efficiency through labor efficiency and feedback to the trades.

  • Provide construction cost estimate to either provide budget estimates or validate existing budget data as required.

Quality Management

  • Set quarterly department quality goals that align with site and company goals.

  • Lead, measure and supervise quality within your department.

  • Promote a quality conscious culture within the sphere of influence.

  • Analyze and improve critical business processes applying the quality management system framework.

  • Applies knowledge taking advantage of KT analysis to achieve quality improvements.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 3 years in construction management

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the superintendent role on large scale projects

  • Broad background in facility and building management

  • Good computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and the ability to lead and direct both internal and external resources

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate well with management team

  • Essential that you have strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate in teams, work on multiple tasks simultaneously, and make decisions with minimal guidance or counseling

  • Experience handling multiple projects at once in the superintendent role

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$69,000.00 - $116,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
