Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Aquatic Facility Cashiers are responsible for performing general cashiering duties at one of the city's aquatic facilities. The cashier will be under immediate supervision of the Aquatic Facility or PoolManager and Assistant Facility Manager.

THIS IS A PART-TIME SEASONAL POSITION THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE BENEFITS. PREVIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CASH HANDLING/POS EXPERIENCE ARE PREFERRED. MUST BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OF AGE.

Example of Duties

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for accurately collecting admission fees from pool patrons while on duty.
  • Prepares cash reports and daily deposits.
  • Responds to requests and inquiries from the public.
  • Keeps office and lobby area of the aquatic facility clean and orderly.
  • Establishes and maintains acceptable conduct among swimming pool patrons and guests.
  • Able to perform basic first aid, CPR and AED, when necessary.
  • Must be courteous with the public and co-workers at all times.
  • Performs related duties as may be assigned.
  • Responsible for accurately counting and recording inventory for merchandise and concessions.
Typical Qualifications

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Works together as a team with other Aquatic Staff and other departments.
  • Performs with a high level of customer service and ensures a positive customer experience.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor, including abiding by uniform requirements.
  • Other related duties may be assigned.
Supplemental Information

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
  • Acceptable math skills to accurately count money.
  • Must have the ability to use a computer, cash register and calculator.
  • Must have computer knowledge.
  • Current certification in first aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and effectively enforce pool rules.
  • Ability to maintain courteous and helpful working relationships with the public of all ages.
  • Must be available the entire season.
  • Must be able to work effectively under direct supervision.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisor(s).
  • Must be able to give verbal and physical instructions to swimming pool patrons and guests.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance counts of the patrons.
