Warn Industries Quality Systems Manager in Clackamas, Oregon

Position Summary:

The Quality System Manager is responsible for overall coordination, planning, maintenance, and continuing registration of the Warn Industries Quality Management System (QMS) to IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. This includes defining resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, contractors and/or consultants.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as the QMS Management Representative when interfacing with registrars, customers, and the Warn Management Team.

  • Prepares and updates plans that ensure continued registration of the Quality Management System.

  • Gains support for the IATF 16949 system by tailoring the QMS implementation to meet the needs of the company and team members, promoting its positive impacts, and reporting successes.

  • Serves as content expert for IATF 16949 and supporting processes, such as APQP, FMEA, MSA, Control Plans and Statistical Techniques. Will identify opportunities for training supporting staff in each area of expertise. May develop and provide training in those areas.

  • Uses information from customer-provided specifications and input from customer representatives to define processes and systems that satisfy Customer Specific Requirements.

  • Manages the internal audit team. Ensures that auditors are trained and qualified to successfully support the IATF 16949 audit process. Ensures that audits are conducted comprehensively.

  • Works with the Warn team to close out audit findings and process nonconformances with effective corrective action. Considers the impact of Opportunities for Improvement, and creates appropriate reaction plans to take advantage of the opportunities that have been discovered.

  • Builds, develops and grows relationships vital to the success of Warn’s Quality Management System.

  • Prepares for and presents periodic Management Reviews of the Quality System. Delivers engaging, informative and well-organized presentations.

  • Effectively facilitates regular team meetings and presents reports verbally, in writing and in presentations to keep stakeholders informed of project progress, problems and solutions.

  • Provides direction to Warn team members who are assigned roles supporting IATF 16949 registration.

  • Ensures that documented information is complete, current and stored appropriately.

  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.

  • Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.

  • Works safely and without injury.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Three years of experience managing Quality Systems in an IATF 16949 or Automotive QMS environment.

  • IATF 16949 Lead Auditor training preferred.

  • Experience as a QMS Management Representative in an ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 environment.

  • Experience with project planning and budget management.

  • Strong, proven experience working in cross-functional teams such as quality, manufacturing, engineering, and sourcing is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong familiarity with the IATF 16949 Quality Management Standard. Knowledge of effective techniques and strategies needed to meet requirements of the standard.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment that may include shifting priorities, demands and resources.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Language Skills:
