Astronics-PECO designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our on-site team. This role will lead cross functional project teams through a stage gate process for a broad range of products. It is critical in this role for you to be organized, adaptable, an excellent communicator and persistent. You will need to be comfortable applying agile concepts in a real-world setting. In this position you will be working with the team to ensure the product is developed to meet or exceed our quality standards and the customer’s expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Will oversee all facets of the formal product development to meet customer requirements within the stage gate process utilizing cross functional teams.

  • During stage gate process will be required to effectively communicate with stakeholders and customers to resolve any problems that arrive using technical acumen, sound decision making and strong project management skills.

  • Projects can range from large program projects that run over years to small cost reduction initiatives over a few months

  • Responsible for achieving compliance with the schedule, budget, scope, and customer satisfaction by leading the cross functional team to achieve the project’s charter/objectives for each assigned project

  • Oversee resolution of project’s challenges, both internally and externally, to ensure the needs of both the customer and PECO are met

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all functional departments, senior management, and customers providing clear direction, planning, guidance, decisions, status, and issue resolution

  • Challenge ideas and continuously strive to make improvements

  • Occasional travel as required

Desired Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of Project Management experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience

  • PMP certification, Preferred

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with various processes, such as die casting, injection molding, CNC, and assembly, Preferred

  • Strong leadership experience, involving achieving results through others who are not direct reports, working with other teams such as Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Business Development

  • Experience in regulated industry such as AS9100, TS16949, ISO 9001, or similar preferred

  • Aerospace and Defense manufacturing experience a plus

  • Proven performance with challenging deadlines

  • Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and stage gate project management concepts, Required

  • Sound communication skills, including ability to produce and present presentations before senior executives, customers, and internal company co-workers.

  • Experience in change management and conflict resolution

  • Understands importance of teamwork, gaining “buy-in” from team members prior to execution, and leading by example

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office applications and experience with project management software (i.e., MS Project).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
