Warn Industries Maintenance Mechanic IV in Clackamas, Oregon

This position description is designed to outline the primary duties of the role, qualifications, and job scope. Just as we do not want our customers to be limited in the outdoor space, we do not want to limit our employees nor the organization to just the work that is identified. Position Summary:

The Warn Group is comprised of multiple premium brands, and are the leaders in vehicle recovery, and off-roading equipment.

Under limited supervision, provide single source multi-discipline capability in the repair, maintenance, installation and enhancement of machinery and equipment representing high complexity with respect to interrelated systems. May provide work leadership to other team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Work safely and adhere to safety guidelines, including but not limited to, LOTO.

  • Use variety of hand and power tools, and machines to perform duties.

  • Assemble and install mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems such as production machinery/tools.

  • Teach, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of bearings, gears, structural components, etc.

  • Troubleshoot and repair all failures in any equipment or system using in-depth knowledge of multiple technologies, which include but are not limited to robotics, pick and place, assembly presses and fixtures.

  • Perform required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc. and document in Warn’s CMMS. Analyze associated data and logs and review recommended improvements with Supervisor.

  • Supports and trains others in following areas; pneumatic/hydraulic systems, mechanical systems (i.e., gearboxes, pulleys, shafts), CNC machines, ovens, and robots.

  • Perform precision alignments, assemblies and other tests associated with installation, qualification and/or refurbishment on machinery and equipment.

  • Participate in the design and development of preventative maintenance programs on machinery and mechanical systems.

  • Perform welding and machining operations to fabricate or repair structural components.

  • Evaluates data to determine equipment performance by reviewing service requests for repairs and maintenance to determine nature of problem and recommend appropriate solution.

  • Participate in meetings as required (team, training, safety, problem-solving, etc.)

  • Successfully utilize multiple software applications to document work, purchase parts, reference network files, navigate manufacture websites and more.

  • Implement the Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities.

  • Support and train others in following areas; pneumatic/hydraulic systems, mechanical systems (i.e., gearboxes, pulleys, shafts), CNC machines, ovens, and robots. Work with engineers to assist in the design and improvement of parts and equipment.

  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled. Able to follow policies and procedures.

  • Maintains a professional demeanor to include appearance, attitude, and self expression in the workplace.

  • May be required to work overtime and occasionally work on the weekends for Preventative Maintenance tasks.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Associated Degree in industrial maintenance or applicable degree.

  • Eight to ten years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience.

  • Experienced in a manufacturing environment and must be an expert in the skilled trade.

  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired. Specialized equipment training can be substituted.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess basic reading, writing, and math skills.

  • Ability to continuously improve and learn new skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and assembly drawings.

  • Must possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Present high ethical standards and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers,

  • customers, and visitors.

  • Ability to effectively problem-solve.

  • Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Must have basic knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, and materials used within the mechanic’s trade.

  • Understanding of building codes.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, verbalize, and comprehend instructions and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to team members and customers as job duties require. Conflict resolution skills. Good interpersonal skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have basic computation skills equivalent to education requirement. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.
