JOB SUMMARY:

Learn to Fabricate and/or repair precision carbide and steel tooling (dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, etc.) for the manufacture of aircraft quality fasteners, utilizing automatic and manual machines, and/or cutting apparatuses, and precision measuring devices.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines required to fabricate part.

Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.

Measures, makes, and scribes metal stock for machining.

Learn to set up and operate equipment such as lathe, milling machine, and grinder to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.

Learn to heat treat tools and/or parts.

Learn to examine standard to previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modification regarding construction and function of part.

Meets and maintains productivity levels and quality requirements in support of departmental standards, goals and schedules.

Performs record keeping, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.

The pay scale for this position ranges from $20.14-$37.50 an hour.
