PPG INDUSTRIES, INC. Manager Quality Service in Circleville, Ohio
PPG is seeking a seasoned leader to manage the team responsible for Quality Services in production of automotive coatings at one of our manufacturing plants here in the U.S. in Circleville, Ohio. In this role, you'll drive activities critical to the plant's performance. This requires the ability to lead change and lead people. You'll be responsible to manage and supervise the Quality Assurance Laboratory, which is responsible for testing of all Resin and Cationic Finished Goods to customer quality requirements. The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for meeting customer demands and takes a key role for setting Business Process Improvement and quality strategy at the Business Unit level . As part of the leadership team, you will ensure a clearly defined list of priority projects and training investments are achieved; identify and resolve problems through first-line management; implement project based solutions to deliver improved business performance against critical quality factors; institute and drive data based lab efficiency using lean tools and methodology; and, manage lab budget and improve cost efficiency demonstrated through cost metrics. Additional Responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining quality systems in accordance with IATF/ISO/TS quality standardsWorks with other PPG locations on supplier development and performs supplier assessmentsManages testing and conformance compliance of all incoming raw materialsManages and supervises lab processing of Microgel lab batches, which are critical to the processing of E-coat productManages the Quality Information Management System, the Document Control System, and the Customer Complaint ProcessResponsible for continuous improvement in quality, lab efficiency, customer service, and management of the lab budgetServes as the Quality Representative for the siteWorks with Production Superintendent on lean initiatives and the reduction in downtime related to lab processesActs as the technical liaison between operations and technical labs Education .and.amp; Experience Necessary Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related technical field.5-10 years of experience in QA/QC lab management, including technical knowledge of analytical testing.
