EMSL is seeking a Full Time Laboratory Technician (Microbiology) in Cinnaminson, NJ. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform standard and non-standard laboratory prep procedures according to internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for microbiology environmental samples received from clientsRecord data in a specific, clear and concise mannerSome clerical work may be involved including data entry and logging in of samples for the Microbiology departmentAssist with equipment autoclave dutiesAssist with laboratory organization, supply inventory, calibrations, and cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipmentAssist with working on special projects as assignedMedia and reagent preparation and quality controlCross training in other laboratory disciplines as needed to meet business demandsRequirements:Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a Life Science (Biology, Microbiology, etc.)Experience in testing microbiology environmental samples (water, wastewater, air, etc.) preferredMust be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisGood communication skills (will have some client interaction)Good computer skills both in typing and Microsoft Office ProgramsAttention to detailUnderstanding of custody client confidentialityAbility to work independently and with a teamAbility to work well under pressure and meet client deadlinesAvailable Shift:Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Training schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending accountTo find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled
