Job Title: Welder/Fabricator Company: The Verdin Company Location: Cincinnati, OH Starting Pay: $24.00 per hour Company Overview The Verdin Company is the country's largest and oldest supplier of cast bronze bells, digital bell carillons, and decorative clocks. Founded in 1842, the Verdin Company has provided bells, clocks, and custom towers to several thousand churches and cathedrals. Our custom designed products adorn churches, college campuses, cities and towns, retail venues, and public spaces throughout the country. Today, the company is owned and managed by the sixth generation of Verdins who continue the company's proud tradition of superior craftsmanship, innovative products, and dedicated customer service. General Job Description: Fabricates/welds raw material to specifications from blueprints to create clock/bell towers, steel and aluminum framework, and clock and bell equipment that is made from tubing, channel, and plates. Specific Job Functions: Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications and using, but not limited to hand tools, TIG and/or MIG welders, drills, grinders, saws and plasma cutter. Move parts into position, manually or by using a hoist, forklift or cranes Welding flat surfaces, vertical and overhead when structures are too big to roll over Job Qualifications: Ability to read mechanical and structural CAD drawings Follow design, (CAD) drawings and instructions Have experience using hand torches, welders, and power saws Able to MIG/TIG/Aluminum weld Carry out gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to manufacture items and components for bells and clocks Cut materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses Weld or join metal and other materials into a wide range of structures Basic knowledge of machine tooling (lathe/mill) Must know crane and jib hoist operations and rigging application Able to do layout using calipers and scales Operate tools and machinery and welding equipment Dismantle and assemble metal structures and equipment Clean tools, equipment and work areas Wear safety clothing and use protective equipment Work on a construction site or in a workshop Experience: 3-5 years of experience in welding/fabrication Ability to read and understand blueprints, including welding diagrams and symbols Ability to read tape measure and dial caliper Ability to use hand tools Experience using power tools like drills, grinders, metal saws, etc. Required to have a demonstrated understanding of fabrication processes.
