Job Description:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of packaging and finished goods shipments as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Building crates and other packaging configurations, painting external canisters/crates, applying labels, and banding and/or shrink-wrapping skids of material.

  • Process shipments via UPS and FedEx systems and manage shipping paperwork.

  • Cross-train with the Receiving Department.

  • Safely operate a forklift and other Powered Industrial Vehicles.

  • B asic/intermediate Microsoft and computer knowledge.

  • Read and follow work instructions to safely pack non-hazardous and hazardous material in accordance with 49 CFR and IATA .

  • Operate ERP system (Costpoint/Cognos) and process transactions electronically and physically to ensure overall inventory accuracy.

  • Capable of bending, twisting, and lifting up-to 40 lbs.

  • Pack boxes, crates, and/or cans up at worktable. Push and slide containers up to 60 lbs. around table.

  • Stack crates as an individual (up to 23 lbs.) or team (up to 60 lbs.).

  • Build crates using a jig and nail gun while seated or standing for long periods.

  • Create stencils using a stencil cutter while seated or standing.

  • Paint boxes, crates, and/or cans in a paint booth while seated or standing.

  • Create shipping documents and labels on the computer or with the UPS/FedEx systems.

  • Create Dangerous Goods Declarations on pdf.

  • Operate a pallet jack to move skids up to 500 lbs. around the dock.

  • Band and shrink wrap pallets by bending over and running banding material under a skid and by applying shrink wrap by walking around the pallet 3-8 times.

  • Coordinate operations via phone and email, create and maintain documents.

  • Requires attention to detail, solid organization skills, reliability, safety, and responsibility.

    Q ualifications:

  • Requires developing job knowledge and skills typically obtained through a combination of education and experience.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with zero (0) to three (3) years of prior Shipping and/or Receiving experience.

  • Must be able to successfully complete forklift and other Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training and qualify on the equipment within 45 days.

  • Must successfully pass 49 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) training to prepare hazmat shipments.

  • Must be a United States Citizen.

  • Must be able to qualify as an ATF Responsible Person.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prior PIV training.
