Position Summary This is the entry level of the Infrastructure Protection Services (IPS) classification hierarchy. IPS employees will work collaboratively with the stakeholders and partner with senior IPS teammates to support the various aspects of Enterprise Protective Services (EPS) work, including security projects, NERC CIP Complianceand Physical Security Operations. This entry level IPS position will work closely with more experienced IPS employees on projects to gain experience andfocus on professional development and exposure to developmental experiences.Work to gainknowledge of physical security and NERC Compliance and its impact on business operations and support functions.Execute special duties as assigned to include projects as requested by leadership, regulator interaction, security response, and storm roles. Responsibilities Simultaneously manages many small or multiple large projects of various duration involving direct contact with various Enterprise Protective Services disciplines, IT, Business Units and Security Integrators. Assists project teams with developing security project work and estimates for completion. Plans and schedules daily work to meet established schedules. Receives work assignments and works independently with some review and direction. Performs technical project work as needed to complete project deliverables. Clearly communicate information consisting of technical and non-technical audiences across a range of levels in the company to ensure messaging is clear, concise, and consistent. Responsible for the research of security related technologies and formulating recommendations of new security equipment and applications for incorporation into the enterprise environment including recommendations to accommodate regulatory requirements. Also responsible for ensuring training is developed and presented to operators as it relates to new technologies deployed. Ensure the security work that is being performed adheres to the Duke Energy Workplace Standards. Complete Video Management and Access Control Programming Workbooks Required/Basic Qualifications Associates degree 2 years related work experience In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 2 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 3 year(s) related work experience Desired Qualifications Bachelors degree in Security and Risk Analysis In addition to desired degree, 3 years related work experience Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CEPTED) and/or Certified Protection Professional Additional Preferred Qualifications Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Certification Working Conditions Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period.
