L2 Aviation Remote Avionics Maintenance Services (RAMS) Technician I in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position: Remote Services Technician I Locations: Cincinnati, OH (Preferred) / Dripping Springs, TX (Austin, TX area) Description: Established systems integration company seeks avionics technician with 1+ years’ experience in avionics modifications programs or similar aircraft maintenance operations to support company installations and local manufacturing operations when not on a remote installation. Working as a team, all employees are involved in the continuous quality improvement process to ensure that the company goals for quality, timeliness, responsiveness, and innovation are met, thereby ensuring customer satisfaction. Primary Responsibilities ​( Perform installation activities under direct supervision to include): Wire preparation and termination Single conductor, multi-conductor and coaxial cable termination Continuity checks of all installed wiring Power checks of all installed wiring Functional tests of installed and interfaced equipment Harness routing and securing Read and interpret wiring diagrams, work from engineering drawings, written or verbal instructions, as well as problem solving from various technical documents. Perform support functions for the installation crew to include off-aircraft assembly, parts tracking, inventory, and assembly of document packages, job site prep/clean, computer entry and general support of the job site. All installation activities referenced above to be performed in accordance with the appropriate FAA approved document and Manufacturer’s Installation Manual as well as any and all applicable L2 documents. Perform troubleshooting and support activities as required by the company. Perform harness and kit manufacturing activities either remotely or at company headquarters as required. Approximately 95% + travel. Preferred Qualifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant License Preferred but not required. Experienced in reading and interpreting technical documents and working from same. Self-directed/self-starter in completion of assigned responsibilities. Experience working on large transport-category aircraft strongly preferred. Hands-on experience operating or performing modifications on aircraft a plus. Enjoys the challenges of working projects that vary greatly and have distinct potential to require significant changes or alterations in mid-stream, remaining flexible and adaptable. Willingness to learn and grow by doing. Must have desire to gain experience/expertise and advance within the organization. Physical and Other Requirements: Must be willing to work extended hours and work consecutive days as needed. A normal workday is 12 hours. Must be able to work in prolonged standing positions. This also includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, pulling, pushing and crawling. Must be able to work in confined spaces for wire routing, wire terminations or general modifications and maintenance. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds. Must be able to work with components and tools of various sizes. Must be willing to work at various heights. Must be willing to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme cold, heat etc. Must pass 10-year security clearance background verification and submit to company’s DOT/FAA Part 145 Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program. Must hold a valid driving license Must be able to obtain a passport if employment is offered. Must be legally able to work in USA.
