GCBHS has an immediate opening for a part time Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide nursing services to adults experiencing mental health and substance use disorder. The GCB Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing and established GCB policies, procedures, and protocols. Follows the steps in the nursing process to implement and monitor a holistic plan of care for behavioral health patients. The GCB nurse may serve as a coordinator in collaboration with other disciplines for purposes of coordination of patient care issues. Responsibilities for Registered Nurse (RN): Provide nursing services (primarily med/somatic) on-site and within communities to clients with a psychiatric nursing focus Administer medications and injections and provide medical/health screening and minor physical health duties (dressing changes/blood pressure screening/monitoring glucose levels/etc.) Provide psychiatric nursing assessment of individual clients as it relates to medication complications Assess the effectiveness of psychotropic medication therapy and educate clients on topics such as medications, side effects, and drug interactions. Attends ACT team meetings May be assigned to initiate, coordinate, and monitor evaluations necessary to identify patient needs in areas to include: living arrangements, financial concerns, physical/psychiatric health, activities of daily living, vocational/educational, social supports, leisure and recreation By assertive outreach, attempts to engage the patient in identifying and expressing his/her own needs, offers services to assist in meeting these needs within job duties, and re-assesses needs and outcomes with the patient A primary focus will be relapse prevention/mental and physical health promotion; will work closely with the teams to identify/evaluate factors leading to relapse, and will collaborate with team and other providers to develop and implement service interventions to ensure patient holistic health stability Requirements for Registered Nurse (RN): OH Registered Nurse license. Experience working with persons who have chronic mental illness preferred Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills. Ability to be flexible with work schedule and assignments.
