Location: UC Health Business Center, Hybrid Department: Pharmacy, Medication Access Services Hours: 0800-1630 Shift: First UC Health is hiring a Full-time, Medication Access Advocate in Pharmacy Administration at University of Cincinnati's Medical Center. Verification of insurance coverage utilization different on-line modalities for clinic patients receiving medications and chemotherapy. The associate is responsible for obtaining prior authorization requests and/or pre-determination for these services to ensure maximum reimbursement to the organization. The associate will initiate or facilitate enrollment in philanthropic foundation or manufacturer-based assistance programs if patients do not have insurance coverage for medications and chemotherapy. EDUCATION :

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION: N/A YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Required: 1 - 2 Years equivalent experience completing Pre-certifications/prior authorizations in a hospital setting, medical office setting, Patient Access or similar environment.
  • Preferred: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience completing Pre-certifications/prior authorizations in a hospital setting, medical office setting, Patient Access or similar environment. Pharmacy/medication experienced preferred but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE :

  • This position requires and individual with both excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A strong medical terminology /background. The candidate must work closely with our physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinical associates to coordinate information needed for the insurance companies. The ability to perform superior customer service, particularly in a fast pace stressful and sensitive environment. Must be details oriented and be able to follow complex instructions.
