UC HEALTH LLC Massage Therapist, Integrative Medicine in CINCINNATI, Ohio

Provide therapeutic massage services to patients in Integrative Medicine across UC Health with the goals of alleviating stress, reducing pain and discomfort associated with headache, back, shoulder, neck and other pain as well as optimizing the patient's wellness.

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED. Certified by an accredited Massage Therapy Program.
    • Preferred: Healthcare Related Associate's Degree.
  • Certification or licensure as a Massage Therapist.
  • Minimum Required: 2 Years equivalent experience.
    • Preferred: 5-10 Years equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic massage and application is a medical setting.
  • Experience in a medical setting is required.

PATIENT POPULATION

  • Engages in population appropriate communication.
  • Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
  • Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
  • Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
  • Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
  • Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
  • Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.
    • Performs external manual stimulation of the soft tissues and documents visits in electronic medical record
    • Assesses procedures to determine contraindications to massage.
    • workshops to increase professional competency and to meet personal needs and goals.
    • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (adolescent, adult and geriatric).
