Zoological Society of Cincinnati Maintenance Worker - Electrical in Cincinnati, Ohio

Description: This is a full-time (40 hours/week with benefits) position, which is subject to the successful completion of a probationary/trial period and the deduction of union dues. Position will require working one weekend day. Responsibilities: This position's primary focus will be general maintenance with a focus on our wide array of electrical work. This position will be installing, servicing, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment, as needed. This position will need to respond to emergencies, alarms and or requests for maintenance related issues. This position will involve the use of forklifts and aerial lifts. The position will involve using gauges, and instruments, to record data on appropriate forms. This position will need to be able to check products for visual defects. The position with be responsible for the maintenance of all equipment but focused on electrical equipment such as VFD's, lighting, DC and AC systems, solar panels and other related electrical systems. This position will also include anything from hanging Christmas lights to working on our train and tracks as well as helping unclog a drain in an emergency situation. Qualifications: Competency in all maintenance fields in support of the team, is desirable. Applicant must be able to demonstrate competency and relevant experience in the electrical field. Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds without mechanical assistance. Must have a valid driver's license and must be insurable through the Zoo's carrier. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb or balance; grasp; and negotiate stairs and ladders. In addition, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, and often be exposed to hazardous conditions, equipment, and situations, as they work with sharp tools and electricity that could potentially produce cuts or burns.
