GENERAL FUNCTION:

As a leader of the Newline Commercial Banking team, you will lead the team to: *Build thriving relationships and help drive financial success for clients with a focus on the payments industry, specifically companies requiring embedded payment products and technology : *Collaborate with internal partners, including local risk partners, payment product partners, and credit partners, to build holistic solutions. *Leverage partnerships with centers of influence, clients and referral sources to maximize success.

This position will also work with leadership and other strategic areas of the bank to develop and execute on go to market strategies and delivering pipeline and other sales and client portfolio reporting.

Oversees a team of Newline Relationship Managers to ensure adherence to corporate policy, provides deal, pricing, risk, credit and underwriting review as well as over limit credit approval, provides support and direction in the cross selling effort.

The position requires a strong understanding of the payments industry and will focus on growing relationships that utilize embedded payments money movement services and technology. This includes a focus on, (but is not limited to) payroll, payment aggregators, payment facilitators, merchant acquirers, card issues, bill payment and other companies that have developed client facing payment products. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the payment industry and verticals to develop a trusted advisory relationships with the Senior Executives ( e.g. CEO, CFO, COO) of the Company.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate your knowledge of the payments industry and products as a trusted advisor, including the team members you mentor and grow.

  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, to manage the relationship managers responsibilities to work with product partners and implementation teams to properly qualify, price embedded payment opportunities and effectively communicate requirements and timelines for implementations.

  • Manage the sales process in a specific geographic marketing area.

  • Maintains primary relationship contact for a portfolio of existing customers.

  • Identifies and facilitate the cross-selling effort of all the bank's services.

  • Ensure the overall relationship is managed to the highest profit potential for the bank.

  • Identify and facilitate to businesses that do not maintain their primary banking relationship with 5/3, all the bank's services with the ultimate goal of moving the primary banking relationship to 5/3.

  • Provide outstanding customer service.

  • Meet or exceed goals stated in compensation plan document.

  • Monitor, on an ongoing basis, information concerning customer performance, abilities, and industry to determine that loan is an acceptable risk.

  • Ensure proper reporting, documentation, and review to determine that a loan is an acceptable risk.

  • Participate in various community affairs and projects to promote the image of the bank.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Typically requires 9+ years experience in credit training and underwriting required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communications skills required; ability to handle multiple tasks; demonstrated sales and negotiating experience.

  • Word and Excel experience necessary.
