Arcadis U.S.Inc. High-Rise MEP Engineer in Cincinnati, Ohio

Arcadis is looking to hire an Electrical and/or Mechanical Design Engineer with High-Rise Building experience. Role description: As a High-Rise Engineer, you will work directly with senior engineers, project managers, clients, etc. on high-rise buildings consisting of multiple tenants such as residential, commercial, entertainment, hospitality, retail, institutional, industrial, or office spaces, or any combination of these. You will be responsible for leading design efforts and serving as the engineer of record for your discipline. You will also support proposal and business development efforts, working with project teams, other senior and junior engineers, project managers and clients in the design of high-rise buildings. This role is remote and you can be based anywhere in the USA. Role accountabilities:

  • Self-motivated and team-oriented with the ability to work both independently and within a team. Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
  • Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency and safety, as well as constructability and cost. Inter-discipline knowledge of facility systems. Experience developing solutions to complex projects.
  • Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients' team members.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards such as ASHRAE, ASME, IECC, NFPA, NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN.
  • Fluency in design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360, Revit, Elum Tools, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power, Trane Trace). Ability to perform various system studies (thermal comfort, indoor air quality, humidity control, energy management, pipe stress, arc flash, load, short circuit, coordination).
  • Work with designers to develop sealed drawings of your designs. Provide mentoring to junior staff.

Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience in engineering directly related to high-rise buildings.
  • PE registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with telecom, fire alarm and fire protection design including prescriptive, performance-based design as well as fully detailed design.
  • Significant experience leading design teams.
  • Lean design and construction experience.
  • LEED accredited professional.
  • PMP certification.
