Environmental Restoration, LLC Health & Safety Technician in Cincinnati, Ohio

Role Overview Environment Restoration LLC is currently seeking Health & Safety Technicians (HSTs) to join our team. These positions will perform a broad range of safety compliance oversight and support. Experience with environmental remediation and construction projects is a plus. The candidate must demonstrate solid communication, writing and scheduling skills and must be able to effectively manage their time and resources. HSTs will spend significant time on projects where they will interact with site management, the field staff, subcontractor personnel, and possibly the client. Duties will include, but not limited to, Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) implementation and oversight, air monitoring, inspections, incident management, and overall safety support of the project. Extensive travel is expected and required. Key Responsibilities Specific Functions: Safety support of environmental field work; Act as or support Site Health and Safety Officer (HSO) and assist with implementation of corporate and client H&S initiatives and procedures; Oversee implementation of HASP and AHAs; Conduct site safety training / orientations; Safety oversight of excavations involving hazardous wastes; Assist with Daily Toolbox Safety Meetings Administer permit systems as necessary; Identify safety issues and successfully resolve using effective communication and positive reinforcement/persuasion; Perform safety inspections of site operations; Role Requirements Education, Experience & Proficiencies: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in science (occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, chemistry, biology, or other science discipline) or engineering preferred; 1-2 years of previous environmental industry experience preferred; Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients Strong technical and problem-solving skills; A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER trained; OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety and Health trained; Safety related accreditations a plus but not required if the candidate has the appropriate level of experience; and Must pass the drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
