Location/Division Specific Information

Our Cincinnati site is a Center of Excellence for specialized oral solid dose manufacturing and drug development within our Pharma Services Group. When you join our team you will have the opportunity to impact the lives of patients and their families around the world.

  • Shift: Thursday – Saturday; 6:00 pm - 6:30 am

The Formulation Technician I supports cGMP activities to ensure the manufacturing of safe, quality and effective drug products to our clients.

A Day in the Life:

Production (90%)

  • Perform equipment cleaning, setup and assembly per the related equipment SOPs

  • Perform hands-on activities following detailed protocols, PBRs and SOPs, to complete production runs in an efficient, safe, and correct manner.

  • Document all steps in production runs with minimal errors.

  • Prepares manufacturing areas and equipment for the production of pharmaceutical products

  • Safely operates various types of computer-controlled equipment used in dispensing, granulation, compression or coating

  • Assists with troubleshooting of equipment and process issues

  • Maintains accurate, neat, error free records such as batch records and logbooks

  • Accurately follows production documents, standard operating procedures (SOP's) and current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs)

  • Monitors operations for deviations, quality risk, or mechanical problems and elevates issues as needed

  • Identifies safety, quality, and efficiency improvements and actively participates in learning organization development

  • Maintains a neat work area and follows department safety rules

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

  • Manufacturing Operations experience (GMP facility preferred)

  • Experience in pharmaceutical production preferred

  • Prior computer operation and experience in APACS, is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to disassemble and reassemble various types of equipment.

  • Basic reading comprehension and math skills necessary to follow complex technical instructions and complete BPR calculations.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work both individually and as part of a team.

  • Ability to manipulate/handle drums weighing up to 110 kg and lift containers weighing up to 40 kg.

  • Ability to hand-scoop 5 lbs. intermittently throughout the workday.

  • Job requires wearing personal protective equipment to include white zone gowning requirements and various styles of respirators (1/2 face, 3-M hood, full face, and dust mask).

  • Strong verbal and written skills in English required as well as effective interpersonal, technical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong work ethic, desire to be an integral team member and player, and ability to learn quickly and ask question

  • Flexibility, self-motivation, efficiency, and responsibility.
