Bon Secours Mercy Health Financial Analyst (Remote) in Cincinnati, Ohio

Summary of Primary Function

Responsible for providing financial support in the creation of Annual Budgets and Quarterly Forecasts to the markets on request. Assists the department director in the creation of annual and quarterly finance committee presentations. Assists markets with ad hoc reporting out of Oracle and Workday and understanding the differences between the two reporting tools.

Essential Functions

  • In conjunction with the FP&A team and market CFO’s and financial staff, assists with the planning and execution of the annual budget cycle, including uploading ministry level budget initiatives. Communicates with the markets to aid in understanding of the ministry budget initiatives and their impacts on the markets. Provides similar support for the quarterly forecasts.

  • Assists with market budget and forecast uploads to Oracle. Makes sure that the ending balance is as expected and that amounts have been loaded to the system correctly.

  • Assists with long range plan calculations of key assumptions around income and expense initiatives. Connecting with subject matter experts to make sure amounts are correctly represented in the LRP.

  • Listens to monthly market report outs for ways to assist with variance analysis. Proactively reviewing trends and asking questions or making recommendations on possible continued analysis or process improvements.

  • Assists Systems team during training session for the budget and forecast. Being a SME on running Ad Hoc reports for Actual, Budget or Forecast as requested

  • Working with the Systems team, improves reports available in Oracle as requested by leadership or the markets.

3 year financial planning and analysis, or general accounting/budgeting

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Advanced Microsoft skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)

Accounting/Finance in Health Care Setting. Experience with SQL and Tableau (or similar BI tools)

Combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of a degree.
